Welcome to our permaculture design course!

Permaculture is a design philosophy that focuses on creating sustainable, self-sustaining systems that work with nature rather than against it. In this course, you will learn the principles and techniques of permaculture and how to apply them to your land, garden or community.

During this program you will learn:

-The principles of permaculture and how to apply them to your projects
-The different types of ecosystems and how to create a sustainable one
-Soil health and how to improve it
-Water management techniques, including rainwater harvesting and gray water systems
-Composting and management of organic waste
-Designing food forests and perennial polycultures
-Breeding animals and incorporating livestock into your designs
-Sustainable construction and renewable energy systems
- Community building and social permaculture


Our expert instructors will guide you through hands-on exercises and design projects, as well as lectures and discussions. You will have the opportunity to connect with other students, learn from their experiences and collaborate on design projects.

Our teachers ...

Sam Parker-Davies will be the principal instructor for this course. He is a guy full of experience, he has taught and designed permaculture systems in more than 12 countries. Now a professional designer having worked for several years with Geoff Lawton, done a one year Soil Food Web course with Elaine Ingham and her first PDC with Rosemary Morrow and Lis Bastion.

Sam has worked in so many different climates and ecosystems from the desert to the tropics. He has dedicated his life to imparting knowledge to create a better world with the help of nature.

 

He lives in the Zaytuna farm as a farmer, designer and project manager, currently working as a designer for Permaculture Sustainable Consulting and the Permaculture Design team. Work with a wide variety of clients from million acre cattle ranches, large organizations, charitable projects, urban gardens and more.

For those who prefer to stay off the beaten track there are vast options of apartments, rooms or hotels in the area. 

Camping

We offer students the possibility to stay in their own tents. There are compostable bathrooms, showers and kitchens that can be used by all.

-We can offer a couple of tents for those who have difficulty with transportation. Places are limited, send an email to reserve
